Level of air cleanliness
Air cleanliness refers to the amount of suspended particles in the air in clean environment, and generally air cleanliness is low if dust concentration is high in the air, while the cleanliness is high with low dust concentration. Air cleanliness can be distinguished by the level of air cleanliness.
The level of air cleanliness shall be determined by the particles allowed in air per cubic meter.
Clean room (area) refers to the room (definite space) with control on concentration of suspended particles and bacteria contained in the air; it is necessary to reduce introduction, generation and retention of particles in the room during construction and use of the room (space); other relevant parameters in the rooms (space), such as temperature, relative moisture and pressure, shall be controlled based on requirements.
Constitution of workshops
Clean workshop is generally composed of production area, clean auxiliary compartment (including staff purification room, materials purification room and some rooms for life use, etc.), management area (including office, duty, management and retiring room), equipment area (including purification air-conditioning system room, electric fixtures room, high purity water and high-purity gas room as well as cold and hot equipment room, etc.). The last three types of rooms are facilities for providing services for clean production area.
1. Clean production area, the main part of clean workshop, shall have the air cleanliness determined based on requirement of production process, which is the main basis for design of clean workshop; in addition to providing construction drawings, it is necessary for customers to provide all kinds of design conditions of products, such as requirements for temperature, humidity and air flow pattern, requirements for properties of raw and auxiliary materials and water, electricity and gas, and environmental conditions and requirements for noise, vibration and static electricity, etc.
2. Clean auxiliary room is indispensable for clean workshop, and the air cleanliness level shall be designed not only based on customers’ requirements, but also on Specifications for Design of Clean Workshop.
3. Management area refers to the rooms for production and technology management during production as well as necessary for operators’ rest and welfare, which can be designed based on customers’ requirements.
4. Equipment area, namely, rooms for purification air conditioning system and utility power system, is an important part for clean workshop. Currently, purification air conditioning equipment, cold and hot water supply (excluding boiler room) equipment and water and electricity facilities are set up in clean workshop, which is convenient for management with pipeline length reduced.
